Quoting Michael Nesmith

I had this inscribed on my class schedule in high school (for the record, we had to carry them in folders with us everywhere, every day, and get them stamped in study halls...) I thought of it again today, and as I re-read it, I realize how very much I still like it.

Blue is blue and must be that
but yellow is none the worse for it:
hearing only with ears
seeing only with eyes
feeling only with fingertips
and this and that creeps away
never having been known by men to whom it would
not have mattered anyway.
Stand easy children for God is good
and speaks softly to all men.
