"Naruhodo" (なるほど) translated from Japanese means roughly "oh! now I get it." I write, therefore I understand. This blog is one avenue by which I ferret out the meaning of life, the universe, and everything....

This is What Committment Looks Like
I started ripping out the carpet today. The wood is a bit worn on the step, and the wooden strip used to nail the carpet in does a bit of a number on the varnish. But anything has to be better than old filthy carpet!
When I ripped out our carpet, all that was underneath was concrete, so this is beautiful! We painted our concrete and eventually put in laminate. I'd definitely prefer real wood! You're going to be so happy with yourself when you get done!
We just finished our basement steps, or should I say my husband just finished them! He did a great job but it certainly was no small task. I hope it goes well for you, please post photos when you are done!

Just wait till you see the finished product - you'll be amazed!
I guess that's what Purgatory and refinement is all about....:-)
I wish I had something other than cheap plywood subfloor so I could rip up my nasty carpets too!!!
Hope you are wearing a good dust mask when you're pulling that junk up!
You go, girl!!
