This is an excellent insight into co...Hello Marie,<br /><br />This is an excellent insight into compassion, mercy and forgiveness according to God's way. So many hearts are hardened to such a degree that they are incapable of recognizing compassion and mercy and to understand that only forgiveness will heal their embittered hearts. It is necessary to recognize our own fallen condition and propensity to sin, to see what the Lord has done for us, acknowledge it to Him (and oneself!)...so as to experience His abundant mercy.<br /><br /> I often realize that I must pray for God to show me my sinfulness, because I know how blind to it I can be. Prideful resistance to that reality is so easy to slip into. God's forgiveness is complete and supernatural and only when I contemplate the cross have I been able to forgive the "unforgivable".
